Scope and Content Note
The series consists of registers or lists containing summary information. Included are lists of towns to which state publications were delivered (1804-1821); pardons issued and delivered, listing slaves and their owners, other blacks, by name (1805-1807); patents delivered, after recording (1795-1826); receipts by counties of state official standard of long measure (1809-1939), documenting that some counties did not pick up their official yardstick until thirty years after it was issued; and deeds, mortgages, releases, quit claims, and other instruments which were received for recording and delivered (ca. 1800-1823).

Custodial History
This volume was originally accessioned in 1978 as volume 10 of series A0321, Distribution Lists of State Publications. The volume was culled to form a separate series by State Archives staff in June 1996.
