Scope and Content Note
This series consists of accounting books of Utica State Hospital documenting requisitions and expenditures primarily for patient apparel. Other items listed for patients include bedding; fabric; thread; yarn; combs and brushes; repair of clothing and shoes; and soap.
Information for each blotter entry includes date; patient name; item requested; and price. Also shown for each purchase are numbers which presumably refer to a patient account or a county account in a ledger which is no longer extant.
Information given for each matron requisition includes date; patient name; county chargeable; article required or purchased; price; and total expense of purchase. Recapitulations for total numbers of items requested are given at two month intervals for some years.
