Scope and Content Note

These photographs were apparently included with applications made to the Superintendent of Banks for authorization to occupy, construct, or alter branch offices in accordance with Section 29 of the Banking Law. Subjects depicted by the photographs include existing banking sites; views of proposed sites; building entrances; shopping centers; shopping malls, typical residences, schools, businesses, and industries in the proposed service areas; aerial views; subway entrances; nearby bus stops; parking facilities; and pedestrian traffic. A few copies of authorizations signed by the banking superintendent or deputy superintendent are included in the series.
