Scope and Content Note

The series consists of 14 black and white photographs (various sizes), mounted on three panels. There is no production attribution or captioning documentation available, but it is likely that the photographs were mounted as part of an exhibit display.

Two of the three displays show the Center for Laboratories and Research, in 1917 (1 photo) and 1984 (6 photos), respectively. The other display is of Love Canal construction and evacuation processes (7 photos), including images of home removal, effluent processing, and trench line drainage construction. The Health Department was involved in an interagency task force to aid recovery from the Love Canal disaster in Niagara Falls.

B1629-02: This accretion consists of a single black and white photoprint depicting an exhibit of herbals mounted by the Dept. of Health's Division of Laboratories and Research in 1956. The material depicted in the photograph was borrowed from the New York State Medical Library
