Scope and Content Note

This volume contains a variety of documents relating to the construction and repair of the state's canal system during the 1870s. Included are manuscript copies of the proceedings of the Board of Canal Commissioners; correspondence between several offices and agencies responsible for canal administration; and a small amount of financial information regarding awards of the Board of Canal Appraisers, awards of the Canal Board, appropriations, and expenditures.

Custodial History

The impetus for the creation of this scrapbook and the volume's custodial history are unknown. Archives staff discovered the volume during renovation of storage space in 2002 and accessioned it in October of that year.
