Scope and Content Note

These detailed Mylar maps measure 36 inches in width and vary in length up to 86 inches. Maps for Nassau and Suffolk Counties date as early as the 1940s. Maps were created for the purpose of highway planning. Maps are scaled 1/2 inch = 1 mile.

Custodial History

This series was transferred to the State Archives from the Dept. of Transportation Map Information Unit at the time of that unit's closure ca. 2003 and was accessioned under Records Disposition Authorization #20986.
