Scope and Content Note

This series consists of archival copies of the publicly accessible websites of the Lake George Park Commission.

B2133-07: This accretion consists of a copy of the Lake George Park Commission site produced on December 27, 2006, shortly before Governor George E. Pataki (1995-2006) left office. It contains information about the commission's mission and organizational structure, meeting minutes (2004-2006), newsletters (2003, 2005-2006), application forms, instructions for boat operators, fee schedules, press releases (2005-2006), and publications (2003-2006) about Lake George Park and operating boats on Lake George. Also present is information concerning the commission's regulations and programs, including: dock, mooring and boat restrictions, marine patrol, inspections and anti-pollution hotline, stormwater management plans and regulations, wastewater management, and invasive species prevention. Maps of Lake George Park and a Tree Clearing and Stream Corridor Preservation Plan (2005) are also included.

B2133-08: This accretion consists of a copy of the Lake George Park Commission website produced on May 13, 2008, shortly after the resignation of Governor Eliot L. Spitzer (2007-2008). Most of the information in this copy is also present in the December 27, 2006 copy, but this copy includes additional meeting minutes (2004-2008), newsletters (2003, 2005-2008), and publications (2003-2008) about Lake George Park and operating boats on Lake George. A Lake George Water-Based Recreation Study Plan (2006) is also included.

B2133-10: This accretion consists of a copy of the Lake George Park Commission site produced on December 29, 2010, shortly before Governor David A. Paterson (2008-2010) left office. Most of the information in this copy is also present in previous copies of the site, a meeting agenda (December 21, 1010), additional newsletters (2003, 2005-2010), and a new press release (2010).

B2133-17: This accretion consists of a copy of the Lake George Park Commission site produced on January 3, 2017, during the second term of office of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo (2011- ). It contains updated information about the commission and its programs, including an invasive species prevention plan (2013), Asian clam management (2012) and treatment (2013) reports, and a recreational use study (2015). Additional meeting minutes (2004-2016), newsletters (2003, 2005-2010, 2013-2014), and press releases (2013-2014) are also included.

B2133-20: This accretion consists of a copy of the Lake George Park Commission website produced on March 12, 2020, during the third term of office of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo (2011- ). Most of the information contained within this copy is also present in the January 3, 2017 copy of the site, but this copy includes annual boat inspection program reports (2014-2019), proposed revisions to stormwater management regulations, newer meeting minutes (2017-2019), and an updated list of upcoming events (2020).

Researchers should note that, owing to the structure of the live site and the limitations of Web archiving technology, only some of the meeting minutes could be captured properly. However, using the Filter option on the Commission Meetings page will provide access to some, but not all, additional minutes.
