Administrative History

The Port of Oswego Authority is a New York State public benefit corporation that regulates the development and operation of port facilities in the Oswego Port District, which includes the City of Oswego, the Town of Scriba, and all waters of the Oswego River and Lake Ontario within its boundaries. It is governed by a nine-member board of directors.

Scope and Content Note

This series consists of archival copies of the publicly accessible website of the Port of Oswego Authority.

B2149-08: This accretion consists of a copy of the Port of Oswego Authority site that was produced on May 20, 2008, shortly after the resignation of Governor Eliot L. Spitzer (2007-2008). This copy consists of a single page noting that a new website would be unveiled soon. As of 2021, this copy was temporarily inaccessible.

B2149-10: This accretion consists of a copy of the Port of Oswego Authority site that was produced on December 17, 2010, shortly before Governor David A. Paterson (2008-2010) left office. It contains information about the history and mission of the authority, a list of board of directors and administrative staff, press releases (2010), information about the dimensions, storage capability, and commodities handled at the the East and West Terminals, available marinas for charter and recreational use, and a 2010 schedule of vessels and cargo.

B2149-16: This accretion consists of a copy of the Port of Oswego Authority site that was produced on December 29, 2016. It contains background information about the authority and its facilities, board meeting minutes (2014-2016), press releases (2013-2016), operations and accomplishments reports (2011-2013), real property reports (2012-2015), investment policies and reports (2013-2015), and audit reports (2013-2015). Information about port security, general safety rules, a schedule of vessels, and port photos are also included.

Researchers should note that, owing to the limitations of Web archiving technology, some information contained within this site could not be captured.

B2149-20: This accretion consists of a copy of the Port of Oswego Authority website that was produced on March 7, 2020, during the third term of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo (2011-present). Most of the information found within this copy is also present in older copies, but this copy contains additional press releases (2013-2019) and board of directors meeting minutes (2014-2019); a revised mission statement; annual reports (2016-2020); key performance indicators (2017-2019); budgets and financial plans (2016-2020); and newer audit reports (2016-2018).
