This series consists of archival copies of the publicly accessible website of the South Shore Estuary Reserve Council. At some point after this site was copied in January 2011, it was removed from the live Web and its content was incorporated into the main website of the Department of State.

Scope and Content Note

This series consists of archival copies of the publicly accessible website of the South Shore Estuary Reserve Council.

B2164-06: This accretion consists of a copy of the South Shore Estuary Reserve Council site produced on December 22, 2006, shortly before Governor George E. Pataki (1995-2006) left office. It contains information about the council's history, mission, and organizational structure; the text of the legislation that created the council; a map of the reserve; comprehensive management plans (2001-2005); and information about employment opportunities and council meeting dates (2006). Also included are newsletters (1996-2006); publications about flora, fauna, and water quality conservation; and a natural resource access guide containing information about public parks, preserves, bike and foot trails, and related facilities in the reserve.

B2164-08: This accretion consists of a copy of the South Shore Estuary Reserve Council Web site produced on May 13, 2008, shortly after the resignation of Governor Eliot L. Spitzer (2007-2008). It contains a map of the reserve; comprehensive management plans (2001-2005); publications about conserving the flora, fauna, and water quality of the reserve (2008); and information about employment opportunities and council meeting dates, (2007-2008). Also included are council and committee meeting minutes (2006-2008), newsletters (1996-2006), and a natural resource access guide containing information about public parks, preserves, bike and foot trails, and related facilities in the reserve.

B2164-11: This accretion consists of a copy of the South Shore Estuary Reserve Council site produced on January 3, 2011, shortly after Governor David A. Paterson (2008-2010) left office. It includes information about the council's mission, history, and priorities, including water quality, habitat, public use, economic activity, and education, outreach, and stewardship. Additional meeting minutes (2006-2010), slideshow presentations (2010), newsletters (1996-2006, 2010), and a natural resource access guide containing information and maps about public parks, preserves, bike and foot trails, and related facilities in the reserve are also included. Items of interest include comprehensive management plans and implementation status reports (2001-2005), an "Inventory and Analysis of Barriers to Fish Passages for Six Long Island South Shore Estuary Reserve Tributaries" (2008), and other publications relating to the estuary.

Researchers should note that some time after this site was copied in January 2011, this site was removed from the live Web and its content was incorporated into the main website of the New York State Department of State.
