Scope and Content Note

This series consists of archival copies of the publicly accessible websites of the Tug Hill Commission.

B2192-07: This accretion consists of a copy of the Tug Hill Commission site produced on December 27, 2006, shortly before Governor George E. Pataki (1995-2006) left office. It contains information about the commission's history, mission, and organizational structure, press releases (2006), newsletters (2000-2006), a strategic plan, technical and issue papers, and maps (2003) of and information about the Tug Hill region and its communities. It also includes information about programs and services provided by the commission, including collection and dissemination of Geographic Information System (GIS) data, land use planning, community development, and natural resource management. Reports, newsletters (1998-2006), and, in some instances, photographs and newsletters documenting regional improvement projects undertaken by the commission are also present.

This accretion also includes a December 27, 2006 copy of the commission's Tug Hill Regional Atlas Mapper site. It contains instructional videos (.avi format) showing how to use the Regional Atlas Mapper system, Geospatial Positioning System/Geographic Information System Bulletins and Snowmobile Trail Inventory Schedules (2006), and listing (2006) of town and village membership status.

Researchers should note that geospatial data contained within Tug Hill Regional Atlas Mapper site was not captured because access to the data was limited to authorized users. In addition, calendars for GPS/GIS Bulletins and the Snowmobile Trail Inventory Schedule cannot be accessed beyond January 2006.

B2192-08: This accretion consists of a copy of the Tug Hill Commission site produced on May 13, 2008, shortly after the resignation of Governor Eliot L. Spitzer (2007-2008). Most of the information it contains is also present in the December 27, 2006, copy but this copy contains additional newsletters (2000-2007) and special focus newsletters (1998-2008) documenting regional improvement projects undertaken by the commission are also present.

This accretion also includes a June 6, 2008 copy of the commission's Tug Hill Regional Atlas Mapper site. Researchers should note that this site was undergoing a major revision at the time it was copied. As a result, this copy consists exclusively of instructional videos (.avi format) showing how to use the Regional Atlas Mapper system and a listing (2008) of the membership status of Tug Hill towns and villages.

B2192-10: This accretion consists of a copy of the Tug Hill Commission site produced on December 27, 2010, shortly before Governor David A. Paterson (2008-2010) left office. Some of the information in this copy is also present in previous copies, but this copy includes additional newsletters (2003-2009), issue and technical papers (2000-2010), a strategic plan (2005-2009), a local government service brochure (2010), and a report evaluating the commission's programs (2008). Also included are additional reports, forums and surveys, newsletters, and photographs relating to regional improvement projects. The "Tug Hill Times" newsletter (2010) and a satellite image of the Tug Hill Region are also present.

Researchers should note that, owing to the site's structure and the limitations of Web archiving technology, some information contained within this site could not be captured. Researchers should also note that clicking on the "council of governments" link in the "Organization & Approach" section may redirect to the live site of a Web hosting service.

This accretion also includes a December 27, 2010 copy of the commission's Tug Hill Regional Mapper site. It contains the 2008 Tug Hill Geographic Information Systems Strategic Plan and information about Regional GIS Partnership Awards that the commission has received.

Researchers should note that the geospatial data contained within this site could not be captured properly in 2010. In addition, this site was removed from the live Web some time after it was captured.

B2192-16: This accretion consists of a copy of the Tug Hill Commission site that was produced on December 27, 2016, during the second term of office of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo (2011- ). It contains background information about the commission, the "Headwaters" newsletter containing the commission's annual reports (2002-2015), the "Tug Hill Times" newsletter (2010-2016), and additional technical and issue papers (2003-2016). Also included are presentations (2016) delivered by commission staff, information about the commission's services for local governments, and information about the commission's projects, including newsletters (2009, 2014-2016), studies, and other materials relating to the commission's Black River Initiative; a Sylvan Beach Local Waterfront Revitalization Program draft plan (2015); presentations (2012, 2014) and materials relating to the Tug Hill Aquifer; and draft and final Village of Herrings dissolution plans (2016).

B2192-20: This accretion consists of a copy of the Tug Hill Commission site that was produced on March 16, 2020, during the third term of office of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo (2011- ). Most of the information in this copy is also included in the December 27, 2016 copy, but this copy contains additional "Headwaters" (2002-2018) and "Tug Hill Times" (2010-2020) newsletters, staff presentations (2016-2019), and technical and issue papers (2003-2019). It also contains updated information, including videos, about the commission's services for local governments and additional Black River Initiative newsletters (2009, 2014-2020).
