Administrative History

Senator John A DeFrancisco, a Republican, was elected to the Senate in a 2006 special election after serving for eleven years as a member of the Syracuse City Council. He represents the 50th Senate District, which consists of most of Onondaga County. Scope and Content Note

This series consists of archival copies of the publicly accessible Website of Senator John A. DeFrancisco. Researchers should note that in 2009, each Senator was allotted space on the main Senate Web site and the official sites of individual Senators were removed from the live Web.

B2214-06: This accretion consists of an archival copy of the official Website of Senator DeFrancisco produced on December 20, 2006, shortly before Governor George E. Pataki (1995-2006) left office. It contains biographical information, photographs, press releases (2000-2006), and updates concerning eminent domain, local development projects, and other issues of interest to Senator DeFrancisco's constituents. A map of the 50th Senate District is also included.

B2214-08: This accretion consists of a copy of the official Web site of Senator DeFrancisco produced on June 13, 2008, shortly after the resignation of Governor Eliot L. Spitzer (2007-2008). It contains biographical information, and press releases (2008) concerning the establishment of the Office of Taxpayer Advocate and other matters of interest to Senator DeFrancisco's constituents. A map of the 50th Senate District is also included.

Researchers should note that, owing to the structure of the live site and the limitations of Web archiving technology, some of the information contained within this site could not be captured properly in mid-2008. In addition, some of the navigational links do not work properly. However, identical sets of navigational links appear at the top and the bottom of each page. If the link in one set does not work correctly, click the Web browser's Back button and then click on the corresponding link in the other set.
