Administrative History

Senator Joseph E. Robach, a Republican, was first elected to the Senate in 2002 while serving as a member of the Assembly (1991-2002). He represents the 56th Senate District, which consists of the Towns of Parma, Greece, and Brighton and part of the City of Rochester, all of which are in Monroe County. He has served as ranking minority member (2009-2010) and chair (2011-) of the Standing Committee on Labor and as chair of the Transportation Committee (2014-).

Scope and Content Note

This series consists of an archival copy of the official website of Senator Joseph E. Robach produced on June 13, 2008, shortly after the resignation of Governor Eliot L. Spitzer (2007-2008). It contains biographical information; photographs; a district map; and press releases (2008) concerning projects and programs in Senator Robach's district and Senator Robach's sponsorship of pay equity, Vietnam Veteran's Day, and other legislation. A list of Senator Robach's 2007-08 legislative member items is also included.

Researchers should note that, owing to the structure of the live site and the limitations of Web archiving technology, most of the information contained within this site could not be captured properly. In addition, some of the navigational links do not work properly. However, identical sets of navigational links appear at the top and the bottom of each page. If the link in one set does not work correctly, click the Web browser's Back button and then click on the corresponding link in the other set. Researchers should also note that Senator Robach apparently did not have an official Web site as of late 2006, when Governor George E. Pataki (1995-2006) left office. Moreover, in 2009, each senator was allotted space on the main Senate website and the official sites of individual senators were removed from the live Web.
