Administrative History

Senator John D. Sabini was elected to the Senate in 2002 after serving as a member of the New York City Council (1992-2001). A Democrat, he represented the state's 13th Senate District, which consists of all or part of the Queens neighborhoods of Jackson Heights, Elmhurst, East Elmhurst, Corona, and Woodside. He served on the Standing Committee on Rules and the Standing Committee on Elections and as Assistant Minority Leader for Intergovernmental Affairs. In August 2008, he left the Senate to serve as Chairman of the State Racing and Wagering Board.

This series consists of archival copies of the official Website of Senator John D. Sabini.

B2252-06: This accretion consists of an archival copy of Senator Sabini's official website produced on December 26, 2006, shortly before Governor George E. Pataki (1995-2006) left office. It contains press releases (2004-2006), some in Spanish, concerning Flight 587 Memorial Scholarship and other legislation that Senator Sabini sponsored, free health screenings and other programs and services, and other matters of interest to Senator Sabini's constituents. Biographical information, photographs, and a district map are also included.

B2252-08: This accretion consists of a copy of Senator Sabini's official website produced on June 12, 2008, shortly after the resignation of Governor Eliot L. Spitzer (2007-2008). It contains biographical information, photographs, a district map, and press releases (2008) concerning bedbug infestation notification and other legislation that Senator Sabini sponsored and programs and services of interest to Senator Sabini's constituents.

Researchers should note that, owing to the structure of the live site and the limitations of Web archiving technology, most of the information contained within this site could not be captured properly in mid-2008.
