Scope and Content Note

This series consists of archival copies of the official website of Senator Stephen M. Saland. Researchers should note that in 2009, each Senator was allotted space on the main Senate website and the official sites of individual Senators were removed from the live Web.

B2253-07: This accretion consists of an archival copy of Senator Saland's official website produced on December 26, 2006, shortly before Governor George E. Pataki (1995-2006) left office. It contains biographical information; photographs; a district map; and press releases (2000-2006) concerning environmental, education, and other legislation that Senator Saland sponsored, events that took place and state funding for services and programs in the 41st Senate District, and other matters of interest to Senator Saland's constituents. It also includes information about Internet safety for children, the state's sex offender registry, school property tax legislation, and other matters of interest to Senator Saland's constituents.

B2253-08: This accretion consists of a copy of Senator Saland's official website produced on June 13, 2008, shortly after the resignation of Governor Eliot L. Spitzer (2007-2008). It contains biographical information, photographs, a district map, and press releases (2008) concerning sex offender registry, tax relief, and other legislation that Senator Saland sponsored and other matters of interest to Senator Saland's constituents.

Researchers should note that, owing to the structure of the live site and the limitations of Web archiving technology, most of the information contained within this site could not be captured properly in mid-2008. In addition, some of the navigational links do not work properly. However, identical sets of navigational links appear at the top and the bottom of each page. If the link in one set does not work correctly, click the Web browser's Back button and then click on the corresponding link in the other set.
