Scope and Content Note

This series consists of archival copies of the publicly accessible websites of the New York State Long Term Care Ombudsman Program.

B2291-06: This accretion consists of a copy of the New York State Long Term Care Ombudsman Program website produced on December 20, 2006, shortly before Governor George E. Pataki (1995-2006) left office. It contains information about the history and mission of the program, a directory of local ombudsmen throughout New York State (2006), a listing of centers that help stop Medicare fraud (2006), and information for residents of assisted living facilities and their families. A training manual, mental health tutorial, and other training resources for local ombudsmen are also included.

B2291-08: This accretion consists of a copy of the New York State Long Term Care Ombudsman Program website produced on April 22, 2008, after the resignation of Governor Eliot L. Spitzer (2007-2008). Most of the information contained within this copy is also present in the December 20, 2006 copy; however, it includes a 2008 directory of local ombudsmen.

B2291-10: This accretion consists of a copy of the Office of Long Term Care Ombudsman site produced on December 20, 2011, shortly before Governor David A. Paterson (2008-2010) left office. Most of the information contained within this copy is also present in previous copies; however, it includes a 2010 directory of local ombudsmen and additional training materials.

B2291-17: This accretion consists of a copy of the Office of Long Term Care Ombudsman site produced on February 8, 2017. Most of the information included in this copy is also present in older copies of the site, but this copy also includes a toolkit for creating and running adult home resident councils, additional training materials, and an updated directory of local ombudsmen.

Researchers should note that the appearance of this copy differs substantially from that of the live site. Researchers should also note that some time after this copy was produced, this site was removed from the live Web and its content was integrated into the website of the New York State Office for the Aging.
