This series chiefly contains records related to institutional activities as reported to the Board of Visitors. The records include reports from managers or directors of individual departments, offices, and programs (Board of Managers) to the director of the Rome State Custodial Asylum, and Rome State School, Rome Developmental Center, and Rome Developmental Disabilities Services Office. These reports were subsequently summarized and submitted to the Board of Visitors. The director's reports and minutes of the Board of Visitors were finally submitted to and acknowledged by the Governor's Office.
