Scope and Content Note

This series documents those projects that are either directly funded by the federal government, require a federal permit, or involve actions by a federal agency such as the United States Army Corps of Engineers. Division staff reviews these projects to ensure their compatibility with New York State's Coastal Program and approved local waterfront revitalization plans. The files contain detailed information on a proposed project's impact on the ecology of the area affected, water quality, recreational opportunities, shoreline erosion, economic development, energy resources, and any cultural and aesthetic resources of statewide significance that may be affected.

Series consists of incoming and outgoing correspondence; memoranda; project summaries; project descriptions; consistency determinations and supporting reports; maps and drawings; status reports; public notices; evaluations and consistency review decisions.
