Scope and Content Note

B2514-14: This accretion consists of a copy of the Office of Indigent Legal Services site that was produced on March 5, 2014, during Governor Andrew M. Cuomo's first term of office. It contains information about the office's history and mission; media and public announcements (2012-2014); and annual reports (2012-2014). Also included is information for attorneys representing indigent clients, grants distributed by the office, and information about working groups charged with developing standards and best practices for representation of non-citizens, parents in child protection proceedings, and plaintiffs in appellate proceedings.

B2514-19: This accretion consists of a copy of the Office of Indigent Legal Services site that was produced on November 14, 2019, during Governor Andrew M. Cuomo's third term of office. It contains background information about the office, media and public announcements (2012-2017); annual reports (2012-2017); presentations and articles written by the office's staff (2012-2017); and information about grants distributed by the office. Also included are standards and criteria for provision of indigent legal defense; forms and guidelines for counties required to submit statistical reports to the office; and information about the Hurrell-Huling Settlement compelling the City of New York and five counties to improve the quality of public defense services. Information for attorneys representing indigent clients in criminal trials, Family Court proceedings, and appeals and other post-conviction proceedings is also present.
