Administrative History

The Berkshire Farm Institute for Training and Research was a nonprofit organization formed in 1962. The institute focused on researching the causes, prevention, and treatment of juvenile delinquency. It also served as an intensive training program for students, professionals, and other personnel studying and/or working in the fields of delinquency, child welfare, and mental health. The Audio Communication Center produced Listen to Their Voices, a nationally syndicated public awareness radio series. The institute also created The Spectrum of Drug Abuse and Youth Turns On, two educational series centered on providing in-class education on juvenile drug abuse.
