The administrative and operational records include annual reports; meeting agendas; minutes and notes; commission member related materials such as lists of members, contact information of members, and correspondence; copies of the New York State Freedom Trail Study project report; and research photos and slides of grave sites and homes connected with abolitionists and the Underground Railroad. Series also includes copies of original photographs, muster rolls, and slave census records.
Publications and public materials include a summary of activities for possible use in press releases; logo; newspaper clippings; commission brochures; a commission supported performance program, 2001 and 2002 commission publication of African American Resource Guide; and Request for Proposals and other materials related to development of an interdisciplinary curriculum for multiple grade levels. There are also documents containing materials related to a curriculum project sponsored by the New York State Museum.
