Scope and Content Note
This series consists of detailed biographical information regarding boys enrolled at Burnham Industrial Farm. Registers contain the name, age, birthplace, nationality, and religion of each boy. Physical attributes including height; complexion (skin tone); birth marks or scars; and descriptions of hair, eyes, lips, nose, teeth, and skin are marked. One section of the registers indicates photographs of boys' hands were taken upon entry and the size/shape of their hands and nails are recorded. Diseases, deformities, and any other health conditions are also listed. Additionally, the registers provide details on educational background and temperament. Poor habits, such as drinking, smoking, and/or gambling are recorded, as well as information pertaining to the boys' home surroundings.
