Scope and Content Note

This series consists of aerial photographs and film, as well as videotapes, produced at various times by state and federal agencies. The Department of Environmental Conservation Bureau of Wildlife's Habitat Inventory Unit acquired the photographs, which represent several areas of the state as it once was physically. The images are used by staff and other employees of the agency as a source of baseline data to make several environmentally related comparisons between past and present conditions.

Some areas of note depicted in the photographs include John F. Kennedy International Airport; Albany International Airport; and the George Washington Bridge. Also included are several images of wetlands; marshes; fires or effects from fires; landslides; tire dumps; and illegal mines.

This series was transferred under RDA 16671 and includes records from transfer lists 160152 and 160154.

Access Restrictions

Aerial film and videos in this series cannot be played on current technology available at the State Archives and may require digitization by an external vendor to facilitate access. Researchers interested in accessing such items should contact the State Archives prior to visiting onsite.
