Chapter 56 of the Laws of 2007 set an expiration date of September 1, 2008 for the legislation that authorized the commission. Part G of Chapter 56 of the laws of 2008 extended the life of the commission until March 31, 2009 and stated that the Temporary State Commission of Invesigation shall deliver its records to the New York State Archives to preserve the records pursuant to section 57.05 of the State Arts and Cultural Affairs Law.
