Scope and Content Note

This series consists of incoming correspondence received and outgoing correspondence created by Robert Moses during his tenure as president of the Long Island State Park Commission. Additional correspondence documents his work with the Jones Beach State Parkway Authority and Bethpage Park Authority, parkway construction in Long Island and New York City, and federally funded public works projects during the early years of the Great Depression. Records also include press releases, memorandums, signed legislation, and budget materials.

Location of Originals

Original copies of these records are held by the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation's Long Island Parks Regional Archives facility in Oyster Bay, New York.

Acquisition Information

Folders 1-9 of 73 total folders from Box 1, and the entirety of Box 2, of two total boxes of original records were digitized for inclusion in this series. Original records, including those not digitized, are at the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation's Long Island Parks Regional Archives facility.
