Scope and Content Note

This series is an alphabetical index by last name of complainant or subject of a petition to Enrolled Decrees, In Re Papers, and other Case Files. All entries contain the names of the complainant and defendant (for In Re cases only the name of the subject of the petition). The early entries in each alphabetical section of the indices to the 2nd, 3rd, 7th, and 8th Circuits also contain the name of the complainant's solicitor and the date the records in a case were filed. Each volume in this series indexes one circuit. Second Circuit cases involving railroads are organized in a separate section after "R". Similarly, cases involving banks and churches are each organized into separate categories after "B" and "C" in the indices to the 5th, 6th, and 8th Circuits.

J0062-15: This accretion consists of a photocopied typescript index by complainant's last name. The index covers the court's 3rd Circuit. Other circuits may be covered as well. Information for each entry includes: complainant or petitioner, defendant, type (petition, decree, order, subpoena, bill, appearance for defendant, affidavit, etc.), file date, and names of solicitor and counselor.

Alternate Formats Available

The series has been microfilmed on 1 roll; microfilm is available for use onsite or through inter-library loan.
