Scope and Content Note
The Court for the Trial of Issues was held by a justice of the Supreme Court for trials of issues which were not heard on circuit.
The minutes of a trial include the title of the cause, the plaintiff's motion for the return of jury process with a panel of jurors annexed, a list of the jurors selected, a list of witnesses called for the plaintiff and defendant, and the jury's verdict and award of damages (all the cases are civil actions). Occasionally the result is a non-suit of the plaintiff. The minutes also include lists of jurors, by town, who were fined for non-appearance.
