Administrative History
The Court for the Trial of Impeachments and Corrections of Errors was abolished by the the Constitution of 1846. Thereafter its powers, insofar as corrections of errors were concerned, rested in the Court of Appeals.
Scope and Content Note
This volume is a register of cases reviewed by or appealed to the court. Each entry gives the case title, i.e. names of the litigants, names of their attorneys, type of case (writ of error from the Supreme Court of Judicature or appeal from the Court of Chancery), and the dates when papers were filed, arguments heard, and orders entered. The entries for a case also indicate the final determination of the court, if there was one (affirmance or reversal of judgment in the Supreme Court or decree in the Court of Chancery).
