Scope and Content Note
These documents are remittiturs from the Court for the Correction of Errors to the Supreme Court of Judicature, for execution of judgement or other proceedings. The documents for a case include the writ of error returnable to the Court of Errors; a copy of the judgement roll (record of proceedings and judgement in the trial court); occasionally a bill of exceptions, or assignment of errors and joinder in error; and the record of proceedings in the Court of Errors (pleas of plaintiff in error and defendant in error, judgement of affirmance or reversal, and the order remitting the record to the Supreme Court of Judicature).
