Scope and Content Note

This series contains notes made, presumably, by the register of the Court of Chancery, of cases heard by Chancellor Reuben H. Walworth. Each entry states the title of the case; the name of the solicitor for the petitioner, claimant, or appellant and the outcome of the case. Outcomes include granting of decrees and orders; referring of cases to a vice chancellor or to a master in chancery for further proceedings; granting or denying motions; and determining appeals from the surrogate's courts. Entries for a particular term of court are found on multiple pages tied together with cloth, tape, or ribbon.
