Administrative History
In addition to his duties as chairman of the Assembly Committee on Environmental Conservation, Hinchey had assignments on the following standing committees (according to the 1981-1982 Red Book): Agriculture, Banks, Higher Education, Local Governments, and House Operations. Hinchey was first elected to the Assembly in 1974. (Democrat, 101st Assembly District, part of Ulster County).
