Scope and Content Note
The series consists of one folder containing approximately 200 pages of Assembly debate on 1971 Assembly bill #7078. The bill, which became Chapter 371 of the Laws of 1971, extended state emergency housing rent control for a two-year period and provided for decontrol of those apartments left voluntarily by the occupant. The series is a verbatim transcript of the debate containing the names of speakers and a complete record of what was said on the floor of the Assembly. Most, if not all, of the debate took place on May 26, 1971.
