Summary:
This series consists of the Ways and Means Committee's copies of appropriation requests submitted to the Division of Budget by 12 state agencies. Records detail agency appropriation requests and expenditures. Requests are divided into personnel services, maintenance, and operation. Information includes position title, name of the person in the position, salary, additional staff requests, and a summary of personnel appropriations for the previous two years including travel expenses, office equipment, supplies, printing and communication, buildings and utilities.

Scope and Content Note

This series consists of the Ways and Means Committee copy of appropriation requests submitted to the Division of Budget by twelve state agencies. The records contain detailed requests for agency appropriations for the 1943-1944 fiscal year, as well as documenting agency expenditures during the 1941-1942 and 1942 - 1943 fiscal years. Within agencies, the requests are broken down by division. Requests from the Departments of Health and Mental Hygiene include figures from individual hospitals and institutions. The requests are divided into personnel services and maintenance and operation. Information on agency personnel includes the title of each position, the name of the person presently in the position, the salary, an explanation of requests for additional staff, and a summary of personnel appropriations for the previous two years.

Requests for appropriations for the maintenance and operation of agencies include such areas as travel expenses, office equipment and supplies, printing and communication expenses, buildings and utilities, etc.

Custodial History

L0150-06: These records were transferred to the State Archives by the State Library in 1978 but became estranged from the original accession for some unknown reason until they were identified and accessioned as part of the 11th floor renovation and relocation project.
