Declaration of Catelina Trico and Sara Rappaille as to the conduct of Tryn Jonas, midwife, when sent for by Nan Beets

Catelina Trico, wife of Joris Rappaelje ], aged 37 years, who at the request of the ] fiscal declares and testifies, with promise ] of an oath, if need be, [that Nan Beets on blank] day, when she came to the house of Hans Hansen, said ] that she was pregnant by Mr. Smith ]. Some time afterwards, Nan Beets was at the house aforesaid ], where she was overcome by such nausea that she sent for Tryn Jonas, the midwife, in her, Catelina’s [name? ], which midwife came there and immediately went away again; also, that she never saw any child, but heard her say: “Mr. Smith wants me back for the sake of the child that I am carrying.” Done the 31st of August anno 1642.

Sara Rappaelje, wife of Hans Hansen, testifies to the same effect. Done as above.
