Bond of Francis Lastley and John Seals as sureties for Thomas Hall

We, Francoys Lastley ] and John Seals, bind ] ourselves jointly and severally as sureties of Thomas Hall for the benefit of Maryn Adriaensen in the sum of one thousand Carolus guilders, arising ] from the purchase of a plantation, which sum of money ] must be paid by the said Hal on the first of May anno 1644; and in case the principal falls to pay, we, as sureties, are bound each for the whole and as principal for the payment of the aforesaid sum; all of which we request may be entered in the record. In testimony of the truth, this is signed by us in the presence of Gillis de Voocht and Adriaen van Tienhoven, as witnesses hereto invited. Done the 23rd of January anno 1643, in Fort Amsterdam, New Netherland.
