Declaration of skipper Ridder Eversen about a cask of merchandise which he was obliged to throw overboard

I, Ridder Eversen, master of the yacht Real,[1] acknowledge that I received from Oloff Stevensen, commissary of the store, a cask of merchandise, to carry the same to Jan Jansz,[2] commissary at Fort Nassau, which cask he, the skipper, declares he was obliged in a violent storm to throw overboard with many other goods. Done the 3rd of November anno 1643.

Probably so named for Reynier Reael, one of the directors of the Dutch West India Company.
