Power of attorney from Govert Loockemans to Willem de Key to sue Nicolaes Coorn for damages

Before me, Cornelis van Tienhoven, appointed secretary of New Netherland, appeared Govert Loockemans, who appoints and empowers, as he hereby does, Willem de Key to demand and collect in his, the principal's, name from Nicolaes Coorn the claim which he, Govert Loockemans, has against the above mentioned Coorn for the affront and wrong done him, as appears by the affidavit thereof. The attorney is also empowered to sue at law and to act as if the principal were present. Dated the 16th of July 1644, in New Netherland.
