This day, the 3rd of January 1645, before me, Cornelis van Tienhoven, secretary of New Netherland, appeared Symon Jansen of Durickerdam, late master of the ship St. Piter, who in the presence of the subscribing witnesses declared that he appeals from the judgment rendered by the director general and council of New Netherland against the aforesaid Tymon[1] Jansz or the ] owners of ] his vessel ] and that to such court or judges in the United Provinces as the owners shall think proper to carry the case against the honorable West India Company. Thus done and appealed on the day and year above mentioned. The original hereof is signed ] in the record by the aforesaid Symon Jansz and [      ] [2]
