I, Pieter Heyn, born in De Ryp,[1] have this day bound myself for one year to the honorable director general, for the account of the West India Company, to work as a ship carpenter in the Company's service, for which labor I am to receive forty-five stivers a day. This day, the 14th of September A° 1648.
