Power of attorney from Lysbet Tysen to her brother Pieter Tysen to collect inheritances from her brother and sister at Alckmaer

This day, date underwritten, at the office of the secretary of New Netherland and in his absence before his clerk, appeared Lysbert Tysen from Alckmaer, who in the presence of the undersigned witnesses declared that she appointed and empowered, as she does hereby appoint and empower ], Pieter Tysen from Alckmaer, her, the principal's, brother, to demand, collect and receive for her such goods, furniture and effects as are coming to her by inheritance from her brother Claes Tysen and from her sister Geertruyt Tysen, on receipt of which he shall have power to execute a discharge therefor, which shall be valid. The aforesaid attorney shall have power to substitute one or more persons, if necessary to institute and carry on legal proceedings, and in all things to do whatever the case may require, she, the principal, promising to hold and to cause to he held valid whatever may be done in the matter aforesaid by the above named Pieter Tysen, or his substitute. In witness whereof this is signed in the record by Lysbet Tysen, with [      ],as witnesses This 12th of August 1649, New Amsterdam.
