. . . the director-general [ ] have decided that the wines [ ] in the city of New Amsterdam shall be [ ] and sold by the small measure [ ] French wine for 24 stivers the [ ] ; brandy 7 stivers the gill,[1] Spanish wine 50 stivers the quart.[2]
Fiscal Tienhoven, plaintiff, against Warnaer Warnaersen; claims a barrel of wormwood
wine.
The director and council order that the half aem of
wine and the anker of wormwood wine be returned to the defendant; because the honey
is merchandise and was not found in the manifest, and mead liquor is confiscatable,
it is ordered that an agreement be made with the fiscal because the aforesaid
Waernaer is a foreigner.
Fiscal Tienhoven, plaintiff, against Jacob de Swaert; claims a hogshead of
wine.
The defendant responds that he did not receive the amount due to him and
wants to prove that it is his hogshead.
