Order to the farmers on the island of Manhattan to haul the firewood cut by the soldiers for the public service

The husbandmen and farmers residing on Manhatans Island are hereby amicably requested, for the service of the West India Company, to haul with their wagons, carts and sleighs such firewood already cut by the soldiers, which the soldiers shall identify, and to bring it into Fort New Amsterdam, for which they shall be properly paid upon completion.
