Patent to Gerrit Douman
We, Willem Kieft, etc... have given and granted to Gerrit Douman a certain lot for a house and garden located on the island of Manhattan; extending in breadth on the east side along the canal 3 rods, 7½ feet; in length next to the lot of Jan Cornelisz or on the south side 7 rods, 9½ feet; on the west end along the back of Jan Cornelisz' lot 4 rods, one foot; on the north side its length along the road is 7 rods, 9½ feet, with the express conditions etc...
Done in Fort New Amsterdam, 29 November 1646.
