Order to schout Jacob Strycker to call on constables to account for and pay public taxes

Series:
Scanned Document:

Schout Jacob Strycker.
Some of the late Constables on Long Island have complained to me that some sums of money were still due them on the taxes or rates of the previous English government; you are therefore required and commanded to summon all the late Constables within your district, and to obtain from them an account and balance of those taxes, and to report your success.
Whereupon relying, I remain, after greeting.

Your friend,
( Signed ),  A. Colve.
