Within each reporting year, summaries are arranged by region or criminal court jurisdiction.

Scope and Content Note

This series consists of computer printout summaries of felony processing reports for the entire state. The summaries present data on post-indictment criminal justice activity and final disposition of felony indictments. The summaries contain up to twenty-three unique statistical tables, generated by the Indictment Statistical System maintained by the State Division of Criminal Justice Services. The tables present data relating to felony indictments as a whole, indictments on drug charges, and indictments on Class A drug charges. Within each reporting year, summaries are arranged by region or criminal court jurisdiction. Summaries are present for the state as a whole; New York City as a whole; suburban New York region; upstate New York region; upstate counties; Special Narcotics Court (New York City); special prosecutors; and individual counties throughout the state. Precise definitions of regional areas are not provided.

Specific tables include "Felony Defendant Processing Flow" for felony indictments as a whole; felony indictments on drug charges; felony indictments for drug offenses after August 31, 1973; felony indictments on Class A drug charges as of September 1, 1973; and felony indictments for drug offenses prior to September 1, 1973. "Felony Defendant Processing Time" tables are also present for each category, unless no defendants were processed in that given category.
