Administrative History

The Budget Services Unit's main responsibilities concern coordination and production of the annual Executive Budget books and appropriation bills. However, the unit also analyzes issues affecting the State workforce and labor relations. As part of this latter area, Unit staff participate on the State's collective bargaining team, led by Governor's Office of Employment Relations, in negotiating contracts with the various State employee labor unions. The particular focus of the Unit's participation is to provide input on the fiscal consequences of proposed contractual settlements.
