James Hall was State Geologist (1837-1898), State Paleontologist (1843-1898), and Director of the State Museum (formerly Curator of the State Cabinet of Natural History), 1866-1893.
Scope and Content Note
Memorial album contains diplomas, honorary degrees, and certificates of election to scientific and natural history societies awarded to James Hall.
Included are the Governor's proclamation designating Hall as State Geologist and Paleontologist indefinitely (1893) and a resolution of the State Assembly absolving Hall of all charges against his integrity (1896).
