Scope and Content Note

This volume is a geographical register of lots and parts of lots in townships in the Military Tract of Central New York. Each entry gives the name of township, lot number, acreage, subdivision (if any), name of patentee, remarks, date of patent (as late as 1869) and book and page reference in "Letters Patent" (Series 12943).

Bound in this volume is a copy of "The Balloting Book, and Other Documents Relating to Military Bounty Lands, in the State of New York" (Albany: Packard & Van Benthuysen, 1825). (See "Balloting Book," Series A0476, for a full description.) This copy of the "Balloting Book" contains handwritten annotations on pp. 115-147 giving references to books and pages of Military Patents (Series A0447), for each lot in each township on the Military Tract.
