Scope and Content Note

These volumes list male and female inmates whose parole authorizations had been signed by Parole Agent Lewis Haas (none of the original paperwork for paroles is extant).

Most inmates listed were paroled shortly after the Agent's signature was obtained, but the paroles of a few were cancelled before taking effect for reasons not given in the records. The volumes provide: date of signature; inmate name and number; to whom paroled; address; if at home, employed, on a farm, in domestic service, etc.; date of parole; and date out of institution (volume 2 only). The Parole Agent's duties included supervising the parole of inmates.

Custodial History

The Department of Social Welfare placed these records on loan to the Syracuse University Library from 1960-1977.
