Scope and Content Note

Correspondence to and from Dr. Wallace Craig concerns his research into the song of the wood pewee.

The results of this research were published in 1943 as Museum Bulletin 334, "Song of the Wood Pewee." Most of the correspondence is with observers of the wood pewee who sent Craig records of its song. Only a few actual song records are included, but the correspondence does include detailed discussions of song variations and the conditions under which observations were made.
