Scope and Content Note

The series consists of blueprints and tracings of maps and plans relating to projects, paid for by state government bond issues, for railroad grade crossing eliminations. The State Comptroller's powers included investing state funds, borrowing money on state credit, and examining municipal fiscal reports. The Comptroller also had extensive oversight of state infrastructure planning and financing. These records were probably copies sent to the comptroller's office for review.

The work sites depicted in the series are located in the Village of Suffern (Rockland County), Slingerlands (Albany County), Town of Riverhead, Town of Sennett, and at Watertown, New York.
